Memory Question.

Hey guys. I have a desktop with 1GB of memory, and I'm looking to upgrade to 2GB.

Here's a link to my computer, with its specs:
http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/gateway-gt4022-media-center/4507-3118_7-31975712.html

This is the ram I was looking at:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231036

It says something on there about Two DDR channels. Is that dual-channel memory, where I plug two ram sticks in adjacent memory slots and they work twice as good, or is my view of what this is totally skewed?

I basically want the cheapest 1GB ram that works really well, and I'm wondering if this will do the job.

Thanks guys.

Dual channel is basically two 64bit channels working in conjunction, so 128bit RAM. If you're system can handle it, stick with dual channel. It does boost your performance.

Can you check to see if my computer can handle it? I linked the specs, but I'm not too computer savvy. I can install the RAM just fine, but I just can't differentiate between the different types of ram and such.

Also, what do you think about the ram I listed?

Okay, thanks for that. I have one more question now. Can my computer support Dual-Channel memory, and can I find some G-skill dual-channel memory?
