Memory question

I have the asus p7p55d pro motherboard and it says in the manual

"due to intel spec definitions,X.M.P.Dimms and DDR3-1600 are supported for one Dimm per channel only"

A couple of questions,1) if i buy memory that is 1600 i can only use 2 sticks at that speed since this mobo is a dual channel mobo? The mobo has 4 slots for memory and it is dual channel. Or am I just reading that wrong?
2)I am lookng at 2 different intel processors. The I5 670 at 3.46mhz (dual-core)or the I5 750 at 2.66mhz(quad-core). This is for a gaming only! Would it be better to get the faster processing dual-core or quad core at a slower speed?

I know thats more than 2 question sry!

Can someone explain this? This is my first build so im still learning the ropes!

Thanks

1. Yes it means if you use DDR3-1600 or memory with XM profiles settings you can only use 2 sticks total.
2. I'd go with the quad core. The dual core is probably still better for gaming at this point but turboboost will help minimize the difference. (turboboost will go up to 3.2GHz on the i5-750 and 3.72GHz on the 670)

One more quick question!
Is there a big difference in 1600mhz and 1333mhz memory?

I don't want to be stuck with only 4 gigs of memory.

Thanks again!

You'll notice the difference if you are benchmarking but otherwise it look like it performs pretty similar.
