Hey guys, i currently have a mobo that supports ddr400 pc3200 memory (184 pin) i want to buy a 1gb stick but im not sure on what to pick, i dont know the difference between 2,2.5 and 3 cas latency or the voltage, does it matter what i buy? or do i have to narrow it down to certain characteristics??
BTW i dont know what cas latency or voltage my mobo supports, it came in a compaq brand pc and the specifications are not fully expressed in the help section of the compaq site....

Thanks in advice :D

It will use 2.5v, a 2.6v 1GB stick might work but you cannot change the voltage if it doesn't work. Any CAS will be fine as it will be set automatically to the slowest one installed. You will have no control of the latency timings either.

I would go with 2.5 just to be safe unless you can go into your bios and see if theres a Ram voltage setting you can change.

I know, and i dont like it, a lot fo settings in the bios of my OEM system (tweaked though:D) are in gray letters or in other words unable to be changed... So i guess i'll go with 2.5v

Don't get high density if you buy from ebay. It may be listed as 128x4, but it almost always says high density somewhere on the page
