Memory Speed Question...

Would it cause problems if I Have a tower with a stick of 512 DDR2 (PC4200) and I put an additional stick of 512 (PC3200)? Will the speed difference do any damage? Note: this isn't a gaming Tower...

In the Tower right now is a stick of DDR2 512 PC4200.

I was wondering if I put a stick of DDR2 512 PC3200 is the computer going to become damaged or not work correctly.

It shouldn't, but they with both operate at the lower speed, which is fine if you need the extra RAM.

is pc4200 backwards compatible? so it just slows it down to a slower clock?or how would it work, I'm not sure myself so ETSA if you know that'd be great
