Just a quick question, hope it makes sense. The memory im getting for my new computer is 1600MHz, my question is does my motherboards memory speed affect how fast my RAM will run? If my motherboards memory speed is 1033mhz will this prevent the RAM from running at its full potential?

Well im probably confusing myself, im no good with computers, essentially what im asking is whether this motherboard http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=CkMiq3rrqw3yqO5H will prevent 'Corsair 4GB XMS3 PC3-12800 1600MHz' from doing the best it can.
Dont really know what board or memory your talkin about.
But in general (dont know about 1033). But most DDR3 1600 will boot at DDR3 1333 bacause of JEDEC standards. You would need to go into the bios and manually set the speed/Timing and voltage.

Looks like the highest supported speed on that board is 1333.

Looks like you understand. It does say 1333MHz tops. But all is not lost. It talks about OC. If OC raises bus speed it could be good. I have no idea if SB OC the bus or multiplier? If bus it should increase the RAM also so 1600MHz would be good.

Edit: Strangle has me thinking what I thought might be. If he is correct yes get the 1600MHz. It will give you the headroom to OC.
