memory- tighter timings or faster speed?

from memset, it would not allow me to go down to CL 4. the tRCD and tRP going down to 3 crashed to freeze the system. are there any timing combinations to give me optimal performance? i still never seen tRAS that low...
 
Timings do very little for improving performance. I'll see if I can find it, I'll probably post it later tonight but there was a guy who tested the difference when changing between the maximum and minimum values for a bunch of timings. It didn't do a whole heck of a lot.
