Memory upgrade kills IE9

I did a simple memory upgrade in my new Acer Aspire One 722 netbook.

I shut the computer down, removed the battery, swapped out the memory from 2 GB up to 4 GB. Then reassembled.

The laptop recognized the upgrade to 4GB and seemed to work normally.

But IE9 will now only run in Administrator Mode. What did it not like??

I am thinking that somehow it is angry that a change was made to the computer without some security permission.

Can anyone tell me what is necessary to make it work normally again? I have not encounted this on older machines.

IE 9 in my opinion is very buggy and feel you would be happier going back to version 8 or install a different browser such as firefox. You can try doing a system restore before you added memory and see if it works.

Thanks for response, that was the first thing I did. It didn't work. (system restore)

Not sure how a memory upgrade would screw up IE 9, But maybe thats why its buggy? lol..

Have you tried going back to the original memory and see if it works? It's also possible that one of the new sticks of ram is faulty. Try running the memory diagnostic for windows 7

Doing that did occur to me. In fact, it's something I might try as an experiment. But, again, the laptop does recognize the new Crucial 4 GBs of RAM. It's a single stick of new RAM. One 4 GB stick replaced the original 2GB stick.

I just checked the memory specs for that model and it will accept a 4gb stick. I can only assume at this point that there may be errors on the new stick of memory.

Yes perhaps. I upgraded the memory since it was recommended by others who purchased this laptop. No one reported losing IE as a result. IE worked fine on this laptop with the original memory. I have upgraded memory on previous laptops and desktops with no problems.

I am no computer afficianado, but I ususally am able to make them run normally. This one really caught me by surprise.
