Hey all,

I wonna upgrade my memory.
Today i looked in my local computerr store and a Stick of 1Gb Pc3200 was only £65

My computer currently has 2 sticks of 256Mb ddr 3200 so can i remove the one 256b and replace it with the 1Gb?
Will the 1Gb and the 256Mb stick work together?

My motherboards maximum sopported Ram is 2Gb

Thanks.

There still could be errors. You can try it, or check if it's the same type/company of RAM. If post fails or something, you could just stick with the 1 gig Stick.

Check to make sure that your computer will support the 1GB sticks in a slot. (some won't), otherwise you have to go with 2x 512mb sticks.

yea, it'll work. as long as the new ram has the correct pin count (168pin 184pin or 240pin for desktops)
it wont run dual channel.. but if you have a 754pin cpu socket then it wont run dual channel even if the sticks are identical.
