Memory upgrade question on my IBM T-42

Hi.
I recently purchased my new IBM T-42 laptop computer.
However, since the memory that came with the unit is only 256MB, I am planning to upgrade to 1gb or 2gb.
How do I replace it? I removed a small screw underneath the laptop unit to open a small door, but nothing was in there.
If anyone know how I can get to the memory, it would be very helpful.
thanks.

hmm IBM is being pretty retarded and does not release any users guides with their new systems. you are probably unscrewing the wrong door. check all the other panels underneath the laptop. make sure this doesnt void your warranty. i know with HP if you open up anything it voids your warranty.

check the whole underside and carefully unscrew all the covers to see. oh and i wouldnt recomend upgrading the ram to over a gig because at this point it is pretty unnecessary!

1. Open ur operational Manual of the laptop, it will hav a nice explaination how to upgrade RAM.

2. Go to crucial WEbsite n let them tell u the correct RAM needed. They will also help u install it.

3. Always BUy RAM from best possible source, RAM is very important for overall performace of the system.
