Memory Upgrade Question?

I have an Acer TravelMate C310 (or C312XCI) and I need to upgrade the memory on it.

The problem is both the bios and the properties in "My Computer" say 512MB of RAM, but then I open up the back if the notebook I can only find one stick of 256MB of RAM. There is only one compartment where the RAM can be, so I know I am looking in the right spot.

Is there some kind of integraded RAM on the motherboard itself?

I have never seen this before...

I've heard of some Acer's that had the RAM located under the keyboard. It's probably hidden there, or it might have some RAM soldered to the board (though that's rare anymore)

According to the Acer manual for your laptop there is only one compartment for memory that is located next to your cooling fan.

And as per the manual the standard amount of memory that it came with was either 256 or 512 megs but it does support upt to 2 gigs in dual channel.

And I'll never trust an Acer Manual again.
