Memory Upgrade

I have an old computer I built many years ago. It still runs Windows XP and applications very well. It also has enough power to run World of Warcraft which is the only game I currently play. I don't have the funds to purchase a new computer yet, but am wondering if it is possible to buy some more RAM just to boost it a bit. Seems to be slowing down a bit when running multiple applications.

The computer was top of the line when built.

ABIT IC7-Max3 Mobo
Intel Pentium 4 3.2 GHz
2 sticks of Corsair Platinum TwinX - XMS3700 512MB 466MHz
Asus 9800XT 256MB Graphics Card

I just need to know whether I can add memory to the 1GB I already have and what kind of memory is still sold that is compatible. Thanks.

Is it alright to mix and match memory manufacterers? And do you think it would be worth getting two 1GB sticks for a total of 3GB of ram?

Well, I mixed and matched 2 different memory manufacturers and they are working fine together in my pc. When it comes to mixing memory modules It all comes down to the mobo. Some will accept 2 different manufacturers others want. To answer your second question I think it depends on how long you plan on having the pc and if it's in your budget. If you plan on getting a new pc in the near future I wouldn't recommend it, but if you're keeping for a while and it's in your budget I say go for it.
