hi i have 4 256mb sticks of geil memory ddr400 if i wanted to buy 2 1gb sticks of memory could i still use 2 of the geil stick with the new memory or would they all have to be the same make also would having 2.5 gb of memory make a big diffrence to the 1gb i have know in performance
 
2Gb would be plenty. You wouldnt notice too much differnence between 2Gb and 2.5Gb. Anyway, I would get 4 x 512Mb instead of 2x 1gb, and just sell the 256Mb sticks.

Also, make sure your mobo supports 2gb, 2.5 might be past the limit, and you 512mb is wasted!
 
thanks what is ddr2 memory could i use that in a asrock 939 dual sata motherboard or do i have to use ddr400 memory
