Memory voltage for GIGABYTE mobo...

Gigabyte is usually pretty good about auto detecting the voltages and auto setting it up. But some times you will have to go into the bios and set the voltages and cas timing manually. It's not a big deal if you have to do that though.

But yeah it will work with different voltages.

Asus boards are really bad about having to set timings manually.
 
The lower the timings the faster the RAM responds. Performance wise lower timings generally aren't as good as more speed.

It doesn't sound right but slower timings can actually be faster. Timings are measured in clock cycles so if you have faster RAM it can hide a higher latency. Check out the last part of this post

As for the gigabyte board here, it might not set the voltage correctly, I had to set the voltage on my gigabyte board. It was still able to boot the RAM at 1.8V though.
