Can someone please expalin how to download, burn and run this test for an idiot...I have a new computer with a fresh install of Win 7.....Thats it for software, and I need to seriously test my sticks of MEM...

Have you downloaded it yet? (If not, get it here) It is an ISO image which is afile that needs to be burned to a CD. If you don't have CD Burner software then you could download imgBurn. Use ImgBurn to burn the Memtest86 image to a CD. Once that's done you can boot your computer with the CD and start testing your memory.
 
Thanks... I was able to get it tested, but how do you see the results...

I left it mid test, and when I came back, I guess it had finished, and WIN 7 had loaded....

Also, I thought it took hours to test, this seemed to be done in less than 1......

That is if it tested correctly..

thats weird it should do a perpetual scan until you tell it to stop. and it will display how many errors you have on the screen. watch it next time... maybe your ram is really bad and caused Memtest to crash

Is it a windows program....When I boot it from the disk, it says Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool.....

Maybe a burned the wrong program...
 
i think i figured it out...There was a basic test and an expanded test....I re ran is using the expanded test and it is still running....
