Memtest86+ finds errors, what can be done?

A friend brought me a laptop that gives a message "BOOTMGR is missing Press Ctrl Alt Del to restart," I've never run across this before, and I just popped in hiren boot and figuring I'd just run a bunch of diagnostics as a preliminary approach I ran memtest86+, not even really knowing what it is. The thing found literally millions of errors.

From what I understand this thing checks whether RAM is working fine. So what precisely does this mean? Firstly, how the heck does RAM stop working properly and secondly can this computer keep running in spite of this?
 
A computer can run somewhat normally if the memory has errors. However, if there are more than one stick installed but windows doesn't detect one then it could be that is where all the errors are coming from. Bad memory will usually cause blue screens or issues when reinstalling the OS. Try running memtest on one stick at a time to determine of all memory is bad or just one stick.
 
The original error you are getting is because the laptop isn't correctly set up to see the windows / os installation (boot drive), or the boot drive partition is damaged, or you don't have a os installed.

Assuming it has an os installed, use your windows disk (or obtain one), boot from it and repair the install.
