I have drive C with about 26Gb space and drive D which is default for software instaklaltions ect, we only need one drive and D only has 87MB left so can i merge these 2 ?

the operation your describing sounds like a job for RAID, this is no easy thing to do especially after you have been using both drives for so long. It is also an expensive thing to do. Your best bet is to simply change the default location that applications get installed to to the C drive.

If your using win XP then take a look here on how to do this: http://www.tech-recipes.com/windows_tips242.html

partition magic allows you to format and then reallocate the space.

New harddrives are relatively inexpensive these days, if you really want more space then just go buy a larger drive and clone your C: drive.

I think it is just a partion, not 2 seperate drives.

dragon2309, thanks for the link:

1. Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
2. Find ProgramFilesDir whose default should be C:\Program Files
3. Change this to whatever directory you wish. I changed it to D:\Program Files for example.

Im already stuck at step 1 lol. How do I get there ?
