Messengers

I have a messenger but everytime I sign in it keeps giving a pop-up of updates for the messenger... I do not want the updated version of the messenger as it runs slow and the servers are pants apparently, but how do I stop the pop-up?

What messenger is it?

Try going into the preferences or look around the window of the pop up that says like "remind me in _____" and then you might me able to make it remind you every month or so instead of every time.
