Metal Fatigue and Vista Compatibility

Hey guys, just recently had a feeling for nostalgic gaming, and busted out the Metal Fatigue. Probably one of my more favorite/memorable games. However, its acting very glitchy. The laptop I'm trying to play it on is an ASUS G50. I believe it has 2.1ghz C2D, 4gb ram, Vista 64bit, etc, etc. All in all, it blows recommended settings out of the water.

When I open the game, I have gotten it to run fine, but once I start a mission, the left third of the screen glitches out and shows the previous screen underneath it and shows track marks of where the mouse goes.

I have tried running it in compatibility mode for 95,98,xp sp2, and 2000. XP and 2000 work the best. I set myself as administrator. I tried setting it to run as 640x480. I tried switching from directx to open gl. I tried max resolution and min resolution.

Any idea on how to get it to work correctly, I'm all ears.

Thanks,
Will

Sorry man, there is just some things that won't work properly on Vista (especially the 64-bit version) no matter what you do. The best solution would be to download the virtual PC application from Microsoft (yes, it's actually free) and then run an older Windows OS on there. That would get it running pretty smoothly since the program would actually be running on one of the OS's it was intended for.

Sorry to bring this back after being dead a few days, but I can't seem to figure out how to work Virtual PC.
