These are the specs off the website. This is my first desktop so i'm not to big on the terms but i'm working on it.
 
That would be on a server board there. You will definitely need to provide the make and model for anyone to help you there. There's no problem agreeing with The_Other_One with that. This just isn't your night apparently. :P
 
Server boards generally use BTX connectors. But the board itself is one of low end Asus 754 model boards there. The eMachines models also came with the GeForce 6100. :( Time for a better card. Meanwhile make sure Gateway didn't pull the same stunt as Dell does with rearranging the mounting holes when going to install a better supply there(or have a power drill onhand :eek: ).
 
Dude, will you just put it to rest? The specs I found state and what aggiefury101 posted states it's a X2 4200 with DDR2 RAM. This means it's a Socket AM2, not a 754. What's this have to do with the thread?

As for the mounting holes, again, what's this got to do with the thread? The board's fine, and expandable.

As for BTX being server boards, I don't keep up with such boards. However, I can say for a fact that many Dell's have switched over. And I don't mean their servers, either...

That was in reference to the GeForce 6100 there. The eMachines had the Asus 754 board in it. And you know they throw the least of the least into those. :eek: :P

Let's start with the basics first. At first glance everyone will assume you are referring to a micro atx board while you are talking an even smaller type of board that uses a different form factor. Unless you plan to replace the CPU that board will not work. It is an LGA775 board and the gateway uses AM2. But further reading suggests that a new motherboard isn't what was asked for.

A good PSU and video card for $60 will be a tough find. For a good PSU you are already looking at at least $60, you can make due with $30 on the PSU but with the $30 left the video card you find wont be any better than your onboard.
 
It does show what type of video card a btx type board will run however. A search for an AM2 model will more or less lead to Intel models since that was their own design orinally back in 2004.
