I keep see people asking if they live near a microcenter. I pulled up their website and see that the ship. Why do you need to live near one if they can ship?

You don't need to live near one, it just makes it easier if you could actually go to the store and get something if you need it quick.

Your right. The store came up before and they said they did not ship. Thats good though. Something else to consider when shopping. Mine is about 40 miles from me.

the other time's i've looked i couldn't find shipping, and pretty sure all those people asking if someone was near one was me...

Also a lot of the combo deals and stuff i was talking about don't ship.

This thread sparked my interest, but I found that there are several CPU's micro center will ship. The thing is the CPU's you want you have to buy in the store. I would not Drive any distance just to buy a CPU with socket 775. Motherboards only a few you have to buy in the store, while they have a better selection than Fry's Electronics the selection is rather small.

I called my microcenter in Madison hts. They don't ship. Said and always did ship. click on the link for web store for shipping. Ok. that will work. At least another option. I was confused.

Their employees aren't the brightest. My dad got his iMac so cheap partly because someone sold one of the 1600 buck refurbs like his as a 23" for like 1200 or less, then some other stuff, and on the second trip there they said because of the trouble we get it for like 11--, taxed to just over 1200, which is good cuz the gas there and back and again was prob close to 100 or over.
