Okay, first let me say i've had major problems oc'ing my e6600( I had actually given up until now). on my gigabyte 965p ds3 (1.3) and the only thing that I can conclude is that its the D9 micron chips. this is what i found while searching for a solution , this is form another forum-- "" I got this board from here about a month ago.Its up and running now with a nice E6400 @3.2ghz and a 8800GTS 320mb.But the frist fe weeks were a nightmare.Constant BSOD's and cold boot issues out the wazooh.Come to find out my ram had micron D9GMH Ic's which this board does not like at all.I finnally ended up buying new ram and its a whole new system. No more cold boot issues or BSOD's.The ram i had that was causing these issue's was 2 gig OCZ PC2 8800 Gold XTC cas5-6-6-15.My new ram is Geil DDR2 800 Ultra's(not the Ultra Plus they are micron IC's) Now my board boots like a dream and runs flawless.Dont use micron based ram. Oh the OCZ are running happily in a AM2 system without issue"" -- these are basically the same problems ive been having, I have all the advanced gigabyte mobo crap in the bios turned off too so that isnt it. ive reqally tried everything that i know of, all sorts of configs, nothing is stable. please at least reccomend me some good ocing , gaming non-d9 micron chips, its very hard to find out if its d9 micron or not. any advice guys plz help me I built this badass system to overclock it.....I cant sleep right cuz of this shit. thx (oh, btw my pc and ram is in my sig.)

I have Micron's running in my DS3, but I have a newer version....

okay I got it to boot up ocd at 3.2 with the ram the same at 800 , but when i test it on 3dmark 06 im getting about 15 fps down from about 72 fps, WTMF!!!??? even when i try setting the pci freq to 100

What BIOS version are you running?
bios version F10, its what came with it, i've tried F11 also off the gigabyte website, the same results :-( and I checked it to make sure in everest, it said F11 so I did it right, Ive switched back to F10 though.

D9's are the best, I have them in my P35-DS3, I have taken them to 834Mhz, b/c I am scared to go higher right now.

is that before DDR? like, are you running them at 1668MHz??

I've have had my Micron's up to DDR2-1400~ (exact number slips my mind...)

OP-You have the over rev of the board. try to get a 2.X rev... or even the 3.X
