I bought a $12 mic and for some reason it isn't working on my computer.
When I shove it into my brother's computer it works, so I know the microphone is in working order.
My computer uses onboard sound I think (Realtek AC97)
What happens is I use Teamspeak and I can hear my friends talking but when I speak into the microphone they can't hear me. But for some weird reason, the sounds that my computer makes, they can hear e.g. when I play something in winamp or if my computer makes an error beep noise
What I've done to try to solve the problem is get the latest drivers, set microphone volume to max for both recording and playback and fiddle around with the Teamspeak settings in every way possible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated : )
