hi. this question may sound pretty stupid so please pardon me. right now, im learning beatboxing. im just starting so i dont want to spend a fortune on a sound system. the only proper speakers that i have are those of my computer. so is there any way that i can hook a proper microphone up to my com and use the speakers?

yes, i may want to record it. also, can i use it like karaoke? you know, like i speak into the microphone and sound come out of the speaker immediately, not just recording. and lastly, the jack for the normal microphone is the same type as that of computer headphone?

Yes, you can do that, plug the microphone into the line input for your sound card, then test it and see if it comes out of speakers. Make sure the input isn't muted under the sound settings.

If that works, download Audacity (google it) and then set the recording to record the line in input.

I hope this helps :) Enjoy.

If you have any problems, let me know.

Yep, like Cohen said, go into your playback settings and set the mic volume up, and unmute it. I think by default it is muted.

Sometimes you have a high latency, so what you say, you will hear after you said. Sometimes it can be fun to have this echo. I have spent many hours on my guitar writing classical pieces with the delay, same with some freaky circus sounding stuff, but for recording, its horrible. Your input wont be real-time and on beat with the track.

Anyways, very easy setup, and lots of free small programs out there to help control latency and get it down to the smallest amount of ms it can be.

Look into FL studios. I think youll like it.
