If you are talking about the missing file being the recovery console, don't worry about it. I'm still at work but will reply tomorrow morning with more instructions, have a little bit of cleanup to do yet.
 
Well! The computer is running better/faster on some things, slower on others.
We do live in the mountains and have dial up. Not sure yet what is of the computer and what is of the provider. I'll use it a bit more and see if I can give a better discription. Thankyou

Then click on fix checked at the bottom.

2.Please download JavaRa to your desktop and unzip it to its own folder
  • Run JavaRa.exe, pick the language of your choice and click Select. Then click Remove Older Versions.
  • Accept any prompts.
  • Open JavaRa.exe again and select Search For Updates.
  • Select Update Using Sun Java's Website then click Search and click on the Open Webpage button. Download and install the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version for your computer.

3. Download and run the avg removal tool, looks like you have some remnants left of AVG.

Get the removal tool here. It will take a few minutes to run and complete so let it finish.

4. Download and run Ccleaner as it will delete your temporary internet files and temp system files, which should bring back a lot of the speed you had when you first bought it.

Check the attached image for options you should leave checked and uncheck all others and then click on run cleaner.

After performing all these steps please post a fresh hijackthis log.

We don't use internet explorer for our internet server. We can open internet explorer once online but when we go to upgrade at the sun java website it tried to go online with internet explorer and freezes. What is the actual web address to get the upgrade from? for Javara?

Greetings John, It moves very slowly now. Forums I frequent come up very slow or not completely and I have trouble moving into threads or bringing up posts. There are a lot of: Internet Explorer Script Errors" showing up when I try to negotiate within a forum.
Craigslist seems to come up well, I think it works as good or better. On Google, sites will not come up or do not finish loading. Email works well. Computerforum.com works a wee bit slow but loads completely.
Crossbownation.com it the worst.

We use WMConnect that is Netscape that is run by AOL. I just went onto CrossbowNation.com it was a bit slow but it worked and no Error Messages came up.

I want to move around a some on line and see how it goes. I will report back.

Well, you do have to realize that you have dial up internet which tends to be slow anyway. Once you connect to the internet you may want to think about using either Internet Explorer or download firefox and see if browsing speed increases.
 
John, You may be right. Things are looking better! We, the family, have horses, goats, and chickens to care for, then hot tup and dinner.
I'll get back to the keyboard later and report back. Between posts things have begun to show promise. Thankyou for the help, instruction and support.

Greetings, we can't load pictures to websites from our browser. We have to open internet explorer and use that. When we try to load pictures onto the interent through wmconnect it freezes.

So basically you are using the netscape broswer? Once you dial in to the internet just use a different browser such as firefox or Internet Explorer. You may also want to think about reinstalling or updating to the newest netscape broswer if there is one available.
