Hi Friends

I want to share a funny experience.

I use Macromedia products since a long.Once I was installing Macromedia video encoder and not succeed.The error message is :"required DirectShow 9 and QuickTime 6.5 or later"

I installed QT 7 but don't know what is DirectShow and could not find on internet too.Few days later when I was exploring my video card driver CD,
I found ( in fact doubtfully) that DirectShow 9 = DirectX 9 and the problem was solved.

Why the word "DirectShow" used by the set up ? I don't know.
 
If you go to run, and type in "dxdiag" and run the exe you'll notice directdraw, direct3d, directsound and directshow are all part of DirectX. The program says Direct Show because if you are debugging, you need to know more details than just "DirectX is not working". Because DirectX not working could be a million and one different things that are causing it.
