Microsoft Office needs Help!! ><

I can't open any files that are related to Microsoft Office programs (words,excel,etc). Every time I try to open the files nothing happen, and If I run the program from the start up a box will appear with :
"The Windows Installer Service couldn't be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the windows installer is not correctly installed. contact your support personnel for assistance"
I can only open it from the microsoft folder itself... can som1 help me pls???

I'm not sure what you mean by ms folder, if you mean the .exe from the program files then just recreate the shorcut to dekstop. You will need to right click 'Open With.." on the files and select the office .exe file. Hopefully thats all the problem is.
 
yeah the thing is, I can open it from the program files folder but not from the start up menu....how can i fix this???

and i can't open any files with the .doc, .xls extensions ( all files that are related to microsoft office programs).....
