microsoft office /sigh

my buddy downloaded the trial of Microsoft office 2007 last year, and after using for a bit bought the full version and did the convert to full version. well i reformatted his PC the other day and afterward he downloaded the trial again and put in his purchased CD key. word says to restart and after he restarts it asks him to convert again. he cant get his full version key he payed 150 bucks for to work. any ideas?
 
go and download openoffice it a free software exactley the same as Mircosoft word but better

Whether it's better or not is a matter of opinion and can be debated, but regardless it's free and at least good and very functional, if not better than MS Word... I use it quite often (since I currently have Linux on my desktop) and for normal word processing it's as good as Word, though it lacks some advanced features as far as formatting & some cool thingamajics are concerned, but heck, it's free!
 
He is not asking for an alternative he is asking how to fix it!!!

Yea, but at least he has an alternative to use while the problem is being fixed... it's better than nothing.

As for the actual problem, how about a call to our olde friend Microsoft?
