Microsoft Security Esencials

Hi friends.
I´ve just bought a HP Pavillon notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium but the Norton Security has only 2 monts for free. I´ve heard about Microsoft Security Esencials. I wish to know your opinion. I also want to know if the windows firewall needs to be used with that.

i have been using microsoft security essentials for a year now and i must say i never thought i would use another software besides windows that was created by MS. its rock solid, and yes you need to disable windows firewall if your going to use MSE, and uninstall norton. hope that helps. :)
 
I didnt think I would like it either but it works like a dream! It does not use hardly any resources and always just does its thing without you needing to ever really touch it.

As MSE doesn't come with a Firewall, the only reason to disable Windows Firewall is if you will be using a third party one.
 
It makes sense, or at least it is logical that the company that makes windows also makes a good security application for their own product.
