Microsoft Security Essentials

I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials and it works great with my Windows 7

I used other software such as AVG, Norton, and others but they always seem to block my internet connection and disable my windows firewall so I uninstalled.



Norton at one time was so hard to completely remove all their files so I had to re-format my harddrive to delete the files in the registry that Norton left behind.

Not to slam Norton but my PC did not take it too well.

Anybody else using Microsoft Security Essentials?

Yes and I like it very much. I would never claim it is the best as I don't play on the bad side of the Internet so not like I am a virus tester. MSE does it's job nicely behind the scenes and does a very wide range of things. Oh and the "free" thing is always bonus.

I used to, but only because my university requires an AV to be installed on any computer that connects to the internet through them. I updated to the latest version, but the Cisco NAC agent we use to log on said it was out of date, when in fact it wasn't.

Needless to say I'm back to Avast.
