Microsoft Surface Pro 3

I've been going back and forth over whether or not the Surface Pro 3 is what I've been looking for. I had a Surface Pro 2 when they came out, but ended up trading it in for a 13" MacBook Pro Retina as there were some issues with using the Surface as an actual computer. Most of these have been fixes with the Surface Pro 3. I'm curious if anyone here has one, or has worked with one for a while and could provide some feedback. If I get one, I'd be selling my MacBook Pro.

What's making me consider it more now is that I qualify for the education discount, so I can get the $1,549 SP3 with a 256GB SSD, 8GB RAM, and i7 for $1,394, and I have a $10 off code from Bing. Plus, this week Microsoft is giving buyers a $100 gift code and a free sleeve, so once I get the code I'd buy the keyboard for effectively just $16.

What really has me going back and forth though is if I should wait until the Surface Pro 4 comes out, since it's half way between releases.

I have had my SP3 since the 1st day they were available to buy and I love it. I can't say whether you should wait for the SP4 or not since I have no idea what the specs for the SP4 might be to know if it would be worth waiting for.

Yes you should get one. I'm going to get one - really lovely tablets, very versatile, lightweight, attractive, even the i5 one runs Photoshop like a dream.

Much better than the Surface Pro 2.

We love 'em at school and I've worked with quite a few of them now being in with Microsoft and all that! :D

Since I'm a member of Creative Cloud, I can get $479 off the 512GB i7, bringing it down to around $1,580 for the highest specd SP3 and type cover. Debating on whether I should or not!

Didn't realise Creative Cloud members got that discount - I should look into it!

Geoff just go and buy one!

I would recommend buying one, my dad has one, and I end up using it more than he does. p
Probably the most well designed laptop ive seen.

Geoff's now asking me about buying one on Twitter... trying to convince him it's a good deal with the Adobe CC discount! ;)

He's so damn annoying when making a decision. He did that to me last week

Geoff, you have money. Either buy it or don't

Haha it's SP3 vs Fuji X100T I think.

I told him I'll take his 5D if he doesn't want it and even pay for postage! :D

Haha, I just like talking out loud about it before I get it, make sure no one says "Yeah that's a rip off" or something.

I just picked up the Fuji X100T, but I might still get the SP3 :)

Let me know what you're looking to get for your canon gear.
I'm using the X100T for a week or so at least, if I'm not thrilled I'll return it, otherwise I'll end up selling my Canon gear. I'm not sure if I want to keep my 70-200 and maybe get a 7D for sports, if I do then I'll be selling my 24-70 and 5DMk3.
