Microsoft Word document

Hello when I opened a Microsoft Word document in a shared folder. The title bar of the Word document indicates that the file is read-only. However, in the document properties, the read-only attribute is not set. The user cannot figure out why Word indicates it is set as read-only.

Thanx :)

The document owner may have configured the security settings on the document as Read-only. Instruct the user to view the security settings for the file in the document’s Properties dialog box. If the security settings are configured as Read & Execute and Read, direct the user to contact the document owner to reset the security permissions.

Hope This Helps,
Mike

If more than one person has the same file open at the same time on the network, then Microsoft Word makes it read-only.
