microstar bios??

ok.. i have a e machines with amd athlon 54 3200+ with a microstar ms7207...

ok my question is.. i cant overclock in the bios its locked.. but i found microstars website.. if i update my bios u think it will let me overclock??
 
you dont have to overclock from the BIOS
you can use any software which is usually provided with your Motherboard package...
 
It's an eMachines, and they don't supply any software except restore discs. Sometimes you can use the original manufacturer's BIOS flasher (in this case, Microstar) and put a new BIOS in, but I have no clue if there would be any problems with the XP install or not, searching for eMachines BIOS strings. More than likely, you wouldn't be able to use the eMachines restore discs in the future if there's any changes made since the PC was shipped.

Basically, you don't change the BIOS unless it's absolutely necessary.

eh im not really worried about emachines discs.. i have a windows xp disc incase i need to re install everything but.. i used clockgen before.. it says when i overclock i go from 2.0 ghz to 2.3 and it says its at 2.3 but i honestly dont notice any difference in speed so idk.. i prolly wont screw with it
