There aren't any "vastly superior" CD/DVD drives out there. This one is fine (mind you I own this): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827118030. Nice and cheap.

As for a cpu cooler, I would recommend this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103064. That TX-3 is great for stock-clocked or lightly overclocked Phenoms (and it's dirt cheap), but if you're going to be maxing out that 945, buy something like the Tuniq 120 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835154011) or the very popular (and effective) Coolermaster V8 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103055). I personally prefer the V8, but it's entirely your choice based on your opinions and needs. Good luck.

+1...then overclock it to 965 speeds or even better get a Phenom 965 Black ed and be done with it

The phenoms are great priced imo.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll go with the AMD 955 and set it to 3.4 speed like Fatal1tyXx and Nevakonaza mention. Do you think this CPU fan will handle it?

And just as a side note Nzxt m59 is a great case. There are a lot of reviews of heatsinks saying that you will not have room for a 120mm but you should have the clearance for it.

Those CPU fans are kinda high price other then this one. Any other cpu fan that I could get for clocking the 955 to 3.4?

The cooler you mentioned here should be fine; if you're going to have a well ventilated case and a room temperature of about 70f (21c).

EDIT: I underestimated that cooler, it should work great even if you overclock.
