I just installed 1 gig of ram to my HP Media Center PC and they make it practially impossible to get to the memory bay.....i just need to vent! it's like they do it so your like it's to hard ill just get a new pc

The drive cage in the front that is blocking your access should be able to slide out the front of the case so you can reach the RAM easily.

Try changing a motherboard on an apple laptop, that will just make you want to kick puppies and stomp on bunnies! Oh and then go drink whisky.

well, there's a wide array of media center pc's

i know my hp m1090n was in the cheapest, crappiest steel case

it was one solid piece, with no removeable cages, bays, etc.

i had such a hard time routing my sata cables to my new hard drive, and cd-roms that i scrapped it, and put the computer into a p180b

I hate those solid piece cases!!!!!!!! I found one the other day, the hardrive bays were wielded into the back of the case not screwed, wielded.

Try replacing a power supply on some old Dell models. What dddaaaa... the mounting screws don't line up for a new atx supply? "you have to buy all replacement parts from.. us only!" ggrrrr.....! custom made supplies for this brand with known brand name supplies won't fit in my other case. gggrrrr....! What you buy is what you get! "you need authorized HP service at an authorized HP servce center."

I was scrapping an hp that somebody gave me for parts. The easiest way i found is to smash it up with a hatchet and then pull all of the carnage apart with pliers. I took out the ram and the processor. It was fun but ive worked on 2 HPs if i remember correctly and both were impossible to work on! The first one i looked at every possible way to get in and its like one side you can see the stuff but theres bars in the way and the other side is one solid piece of metal. Cant get in from the front either. Stupid stupid stupid

One way cases! What goes in can't come out. hacksaw, chisel, blow torch, jack hammer, buzz saw, steam roller... steam roller? ! :P

Why can't branded PC manufacturers use standard cases? It will make thing so much easier. I wouldn't touch a branded PC with a 9 foot pole.

can everyone stop naming threads with the P word....its becoming to common :)
i changed it to the more PC miffed :D

Gee? I made a typo with US seen as Us. Can you correct that one? Some how... I'm still trying to figure that one out. :P

So, I guess it was AJP101 that changed my thread too...
yup, i think it still get the point across :)
