Might Want To Try Out RAID

Alright, I know that there is a guide on this, but that is a lot of in depth reading, and I just have a couple of easy questions.

First of all, I'm not very familiar with RAID, but I understand it allows you to break up files among multiple drives, decreasing reading/writing times.

What I want to know is how I should go about setting up RAID, and also my motherboard supports PATA raid... is there really any performance increase with that?'

Also, what does "NV RAID 0/1/0+1 JBOD" mean?

I wouldn't suggest going with RAID. With striping, there isn't much of a noticeable increase in performance. I used it once with a pair of Raptors, and now I'm back to a single drive.

Unless you find it cheaper to get a pair of drives rather than one large one, or you wish to go a mirrored(backup) route, I'd stay away from it.

As for 0/1/..., those are the supported standards.
