Minecraft PC build help

I'm trying to build a small PC for my son to play Minecraft on (Not a server). The only thing he will do on it is play Minecraft and look up YouTube videos on Minecraft. I would like it to play on medium settings without lag.

I'm far from rich and have a tendency to overspend so I'm asking for advice to avoid this. I don't want cheap hardware that is going to fail but for example if my Power supply is overkill please suggest an alternative. I like Newegg because I've had good experience with them but I'm willing to get parts elsewhere if it means a better choice.

I'd got a better video card if you can. A GT 740 or higher or a 7750 or higher. The 730 could push Minecraft, but for a few more dollars spent you'd get much better performance.

Case - that caugar don't seems to have good cable management. If you after matx tower around $30, consider SilverStone PS08B/ Fractal Design Core 1000

RAM - Personally would get either 1 x 4GB or 2 x 4GB. 4GB RAM is a bit low for today standard. If you get 2 x 2GB, you need to spend more for next upgrade as the mobo only have two memory slot

Video card - GT730 for $80 seems expensive.
Or it may worth spending extra $10 for GT740/ R7 250X

PSU - Consider Corsair Cx430M. Modular PSU make life easier when you got a small case

Thanks for the replies! Right now I'm a bit over $500 so it's a little more than I wanted to spend but not too crazy. Keep in mind that this PC will only play Minecraft and never any other games.

I only saw one Fractal Design Core 1000 mini tower. It's a bit more expensive but if you think it's much better I'll go for it. I want to keep it a mini tower since space is an issue

I looked at this power supply but the reviews aren't nearly as good compared to the Antec. Do you think this is still the way to go?

I couldn't find the GT 740 but I found a GTX 750. I've had people tell me I should stick to integrated graphics so thought this would be overkill for Minecraft.

I found this for memory. Would using one 4 GB stick vs two 2 GB sticks cause any performance issues?

I've got Minecraft on my shit awful computer and it runs fine about 40 fps, a little lower on servers. In my opinion, u don't even need a graphics card, just go with an integrated graphics card like an amd kaveri and u should be fine

If you can get a graphics card then get one. It will improve performance and the GTX 750 should be just about OK for other games too.

In benchmarks 1x4GB will be slower than 2x2GB because it's not running in dual-channel but you won't really notice a difference and it makes upgrading to 8GB in the future easier so it's probably more ideal.
