Minor Test of 'Freebies'

Here is a recent minor test of the freebies. It was given the 'Thumbs Down' however because of the test bed being made up of mostly(not all) 'Spyware/Adware'.The 4 products tested were the following.

AOL/Kaspersky
AVG
Avast
Antivir

Keep in mind that the 'Free' versions of AVG and Antivir are not set to scan for Spyware/Adware. Even so, 'AOL/Kaspersky' was by far the best and with the dominant Malware right now being 'Trojans, Worms and Spyware/Adware', not 'Viruses', it shows the significance of running a 'Real Time' Spyware Program. It also shows me how well 'Kaspersky' has adapted to detecting all forms of 'Malware'.

Just remember that most of the testbed was 'Spyware/Adware'. Wanted to show that it's important not to rely on your AV for catching all kinds of Malware. But Kaspersky based AV's do an excellent job in all areas.
 
i just read something about aol/kaspersky's eula, have you? for those reasons and those ONLY i am not switching.
 
i use antivir, i dont have any security issues here, along with regular updates and ssans with AdAware SE Professional its all fine, note with the PRO version of AdAware you get real time monitoring, you have to pay for it though, serves me very well.
