Missing CD /DVD Drives

[Topman]

Can someone help please ?

My intenral sony DVD drive and my external dvd drive have both gone missing from 'my 'computer' and no dvds /cds load

Have tried re-installing / switching pc on and off and using add hardware / device manager etc but nothing Earlier today I did copy across files onto an external hard drive so I must have done something wrong at that stage I guess !

Please post the specs of your machine. What brand, model, how old, etc.

Try deleting the upper and lower filters using the registry. Follow instructions here.

Start reading where it says "manually delete the registry entries".
