ive got an DAN computer i got hold of but on the mother board one of the slot in cards is missing-it is the first one in a line of three going towards the heat sink end of the mother board---i wondered if you could tell me what this one is so i can replace it--thanks.

Just because you have a slot open doesnt mean anything is missing, need to know alot more about the computer. Model number-motherboard and so on.

I think what he is saying is that there is a place for a slot but there is nothing there. Many part manufactures use the same printed circuit board for various models... my guess is that his motherboard shares the same PCB as another model that includes an AGP or PCI-E slot, but his does not. There is no modification that can be done, as even if he did find a PCI-E or AGP connector, the board would not have the correct chipset to use it.

DAN computers are a long-bust firm, we used to have a 400MHz celeron box made by them, t'wasn't too bad for the time.
