I have two PCs, both W7 64bit pro, that recently (last few months) keep loosing desktop icons.
On my wife's PC I have put links to folders of photos etc and some of these regularly disappear. Out of 12 that are on the screen about 5 (the same 5) keep going, about once a week! I have to recreate them (by right clicking on the folder and 'send to the desktop (create a shortcut)'). Why do they disappear, and why the same 5?
Today, on my PC, my icons got moved around and two (MS games) just disappeared. I really had to search around to find where the programs were sourced so that I could get them back on my desktop.
Is there a reason (MS updates etc) why this happens and is there a way to prevent it?
