missing dll

The modem gets all its settings from the provider. When you hooked up to the modem, you need to restart your computer to get new IP address. Or at a command prompt, type ipconfig /release hit enter, then type ipconfig /renew hit enter. This should restore your internet.

first the good news. my ISP has sent a new combined modem/router just hooked it up made a phone call to activate it and bingo everything appears to be back to normal, Hooray!!!!
dns servers are now 194.168.4.100 & 194.168.4.100
on the old set up i removed the router and as before the internet was gone tried ipconfig /renew and it timed out stating "unable to contact DHCP server". does this mean my old modem was hacked?
anyway big thanks for your help, much appreciated.

Yeah, it seems your router was victim of dns poisoning. Glad you got it squared away finally.
