Missing driver

Greetings,

Obviously, I'm new here, and it appears this is a good place to get some info on aspects of the computer that I am a bit ignorant of. I don't know if this is the appropriate place in these forums for this question, but nothing else seemed to fit, so here it is.

Specifically, I have an older computer running Win98SE that I no longer have any of the software for and I was going to give to a family friend who are in need of a servicable computer to do some web surfing on.

Anyway, after I had "cleaned" it up a bit, I found out that I must have cleaned a bit too much and now get a New Hardware notice everytime I restart it with it looking for a driver for "PCI ATM Controller". I have to admit that I really don't know what this is, though the machine seems to run fine without it.

So, if any of you know what this is and could help me out with where I could find a driver for this, that'd be great. I'm at a bit of a loss here.

Sounds like it "cleaned" the PCI controller on the motherboard. Let us know the make/model of the board so we can point you in the right direction (as stated by Camper).

OK. I know it's an HP Pavillion, but don't have the machine in front of me, so I don't have the model # right now. I will post that here when I get home from work. Thanks!
