Missing files in network drive

I have a network drive storing plenty of my files.
But now I met a problem that all files in a folder are disappeared.
However, when I view the properties of the folder, it shows that there are files in the folder.
I have tried to uncheck the "Hide" option in the properties, but still nothing happened.

Can anyone tell me how to get back my files? Thanks a lot! :)

You can try and see if files in your registry have been changed. Click start and in the search bar type 'regedit' (press enter). Then navigate/ research for:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOW ALL

You will find a key called CheckedValue. Change the value to 1.

If that doesn't work, do a full system virus scan and spyware check.

Did you install any software before this happened? if you did you could use system restore to restore it an earlier date.

I have tried to use another computer to access the network drive (which is an external HDD connected by LAN), but the result is still the same, so I think it may not be the problem of the computer...
Thanks!
