Missing files on NTFS drive

I have a 2 tb NTFS hard drive that I have been using to store movies, uni documents and random stuff. I have been using tuxera to use it on my mac. The movies folder, which was rather large (1tb or so) has disappeared. All other folders appear to be unchanged. The space available hasn't changed though so I am hopeful to recover. What method can I use. I have access to my mac and have run a repair to no avail.

Thanks.

My guess is it's deleted, and inside a hidden .trashes folder on the root of the drive. Try enabling hidden files and see if they are there.

I used the command line "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES" but nothing seems to have shown up. Is there another way to show folders that may work?

You need to type "killall Finder" when you are done.
