Missing kernal DLLs?

hyPoxxx.dll

Hi, I was surfing the internet with my PC untill it shut off. I tryed rebooting it, but after the POST check, before the XP loading bar. It said Missing kernal DLLs. Call your manufacturer the report this problem.

So, i put in the winxp cd to try and restore the missing DLLs. When i pressed restore, it said it cant find a harddrive in my machine.

What should i do? Should i just take the easy way and order a new hdd and os?

if it was a manufactured computer like dell i would think it had a restore disk.
if it was built to specification i would get the info off the hd. example would be Western digital. there is software available for downloading and checking out.
it will tell ya if its fried or getting ready to take a dump.

2nd thought though.
Im curious ... try rebooting tap the f8 key during the boot process.
can you start up in safe mode?
