Mix and Match?

You should have no issues with running them together, they are the same memory just different 4gb sticks instead of 2gb sticks. You would have to be running a 64bit OS to use all that ram though and also a motherboard that supports it. What do you use your system for that you require more ram? If you don't use all the ram now, there is no sense in getting more.
 
I'm pretty sure that my MOBO can handle it. I also am using Windows 64b. The reason I want to get more RAM is when I am playing my games I see my Memory peaking at about 80-90% Usage. So i would like to lower that a little bit
 
The days of having to exactly match DIMM's are so far past. You don't even have too match speed anymore. RAM just down clocks to the the slowest and highest timings.

A little thing called JEDEC standards. Yes there are exceptions, not sure I would want a board that can't play nice. And yes of course if you OC that can be an exception. But that should not be a shocker as OC'ing is going beyond the standards. But should still work just OC goes to weakest DIMM.

Run within standards you should not have issue, buy the cheapest RAM you feel comfortable with. The old days are gone step into the new.

Edit: Also if you do find you have issue you can return if bought from any reputable place. So don't bend over backward for what really is a non issue.
