Mixing RAM

I currently have 2 gb of DDR2 RAM in my computer, and was given 2 gb of DDR3. It snaps in place, but my question is, will it work, or am I just wasting my time?

No this will not work, but if your board supports DDR3 you could always swap it for DDR3.

Edit: Or do you have 2x2 DIMM slots where DDR2 fits in two of them and DDR3 in the other two?

If your motherboard supports both types of memory, you can only use one type at a time.
