I have an NF8-V2 mobo that i bought last month and for some reason whenever i try to update the motherboard the Nvidia nforce networking controller fails and I have no active LAN. I ve tried updating from the nvidia website and the drivers that came with the mobo but i get the same thing. Does anyone know whats wrong?

What exactly happens when you update? does the network just stop working? are you sure that the new drivers for some reason just reset your IP and other misc things which would cause your network to stop working..

There are no new drivers at the Abit support site for the onboard Lan. The last update for that model board for the chipset was 09/07/04. http://www.abit-usa.com/downloads/driver/drivers.php?categories=1&model=292 There's a good chance that you installed the incorrect update which can goof things up. One thing that could be tried is the removal of the device listing in the device manager and restart to allow Windows to redetect the hardware and choose the automatic update option. Windows will search for the correct drivers from it's data base. If that fails then you reinstall the default drivers found on the mother board cd.
