i was thinkin bout gettin a new mobo and puttin it in my 240 case, thought it was a pretty cool idea lol, would anything fit in here? not lookin 2 get dual core, just somethin alot better than what it is now..
 
Probably it has a mATX case...But you would want to check, just in case it is some weird non-standard motherboard.

You don't have to bump a 2 hour old thread :P

JP, buy a cheap new case, the cooling on the GX240 isnt greant and I know that the motherboard pinout is non standard, I used to have it, remember?

and Ku, i was gonna buy a new mobo, everything, whats a good cheap mobo?

have 2 buy the cpu seperate? and the heatsink/fan?
 
I'm quite sure the GX240's don't use a standard motherboard layout... They only have on screw holding them in(along with some hooks) The font pannel also has a weird setup. I'm quite sure you couldn't use the case without some pretty major moding.

i have an old E-Machine case on my porch, how bout that? lol...

be cool if i could have a small case but really powerful machine lol..
 
really? it dont have that metal thing behind the mobo, like my 240 does...

i had a Compaq mobo in the E-Machines case..

think the Compaq was ATX, soo i guess the E-Machines is 2...
 
well would another type of Dell mobo fit in here? im almost positive a GX260 mobo would fit in my case, but im lookin 4 a mobo that can support a higher cpu...
