mobo help

spellcheck

had a quick question. I am a pc noob, and am wantin to build a pc. I have a mobo that I bought a year or so ago, and was readin about the FSB and thought that I might have the wrong idea about how much mine has.

it is a

ASUS
A7N8X-E Deluxe
FSB 400 MHz

was wonderin if that is its true FSB or a FSB that is wrong and used for marketing

It's an "effective" 400MHz FSB. In other words, it's actually a clock doubled 200 MHz, or 400MHz DDR... Whichever you'd like to call it.

alright thanks

also, would this be an alright mobo to use, or should I look into gettin a new one when I start building the pc

I guess it was quite good when they had Athlon XP CPUs (*barf* *hack* *gag* *wheeze* lol).

Personally? I would buy a new board and CPU. Unless, of course, you get a superb deal on an Axp.. You know.. like.. Free?

well, I already have a pretty good pc for what I need, just plannin on usin this as a first time pc building project. might go for better on the next one I build
